Hi! I’m Lara Cornell…

My zone of genius lies in creating handmade artisan businesses focused on 3 pillars: Planet, People & Prosperity. I LOVE helping artisan business owners build a legacy business that is 100% aligned with who they are and what they love. This passion led to the creation of my International Best Selling Book Maker’s Mark.

I have worked for nearly 2 decades as an executive in International Travel before starting my own successful art business and even showing my art at the Louvre in Paris! Building an award winning Social Impact Venue (the first of its kind) allowed me to work more one-on-one with local artisans to create their legacy businesses while also supporting the local community through prioritizing hand-made, farm-to-table, local, sustainable events, and supporting local charitable and non-profit organizations.

I have had opportunities to study with some incredible programs to build my skills and expertise such as studying Fine Art with Milan Art Institute, Modern and Contemporary Art and Design with MoMa, Business of Art with Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and Sustainable Design & Biomimicry with MCAD. I also continue to study Branding Strategy, and Sustainable & Impact Driven Business Strategies with University of London and University of Copenhagen. Of course this is in addition to expanding my creative skillset with studies in Gilding and the Perfumery Arts, to name just a couple.

I am an over-achiever who learns by doing ALL the things which has led to successful ventures and a large skillset! I am just as happy painting and creating as I am reading the Standford Business Review, coaching, & and discussing biomimicry and sustainability in business. I can be found usually covered in paint, with gold leaf in my hair and a minimum of 3 books in my handmade bag while juggling a raspberry mocha from a local coffee shop, my three kids, a handful of flowers. I’m a sucker for a great chandelier, a good farmers market, a well-created sustainable brand, a stone paper journal, and any opportunity to learn something new.

What People Are Saying about the Podcast

Lara’s Podcast is everything I expected and more. After I worked through her book and had a call with her I was waiting for a podcast to come out because Lara is the real deal. She get’s straight to the point and gives you straight value with everything you need to know about building an artisan brand. I have listened to a lot of business advice and always had trouble making the connection to my art. Lara basically does that for you and translates business into art lingo. It’s a must listen for every artist! Thank you Lara!

The Impactful Artisan brings a fresh, unique approach to creativity and business! As an artist and writer in the early stages of considering a creative business myself, I find Lara’s insights to be helpful, clear and refreshing. She drives home the importance of building a solid foundation, from the bottom up, ensuring long-lasting impact for the long-term. I would recommend The Impactful Artisan Podcast to any creative entrepreneur who is just starting out, stuck in a rut, or somewhere in between!

Lara has a business mindset but talks in the language of an artist. She takes complicated corporate thoughts and practices and explains how to transform them into something more meaningful and relatable to a creative business. It’s a new way of thinking but there are pure gold nuggets in these short episodes.

Thank you so much Lara for this and for keeping it short and sweet. Such a wonderful way to start my day. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I think my first reaction was “oh, OH?!” - now I am pondering your words of wisdom and feeling a big yes rising to the surface. Why do I do what I do? A question I am actually forming an answer to on a deeper level right now.
